Elements
During a visit to Cyprus, Katya photographed modernist architecture as part of her research focussing on architectural elements and went on to create a series of screen prints. She created architecturally inspired drawings and experimented with screen printing on paper constructing the 'Elements' series; the screen prints display a bold, graphic and energetic experience through the layers and the replay of lines. The continuous lines allows for the transformation of the dynamics into an energetic space. Katya seeks to interrogate and inquire about space and relationships within it, being the aesthetic as well as the functional.
